The Story

Unloved and unused for decades, The Garden & Patio were just the junkyward hidden behind First & Green and Robin Whitfield’s studio. With a lot of loving care and the addition of stamped and stained concrete and judicious landscaping by Joby Jackson of Winona, MS their fundamental beauty has been revealed. 

The Space

Together, The Garden and The Patio offer an ideal space for large parties.

The Garden is an inviting outdoor space entered via gates on Doak Street or from The Snug or The Hide. It has served as the setting for class reunions, birthday parties for all ages, and for wedding ceremonies and a reception venue combined with the Main Hall. With a band and lots of dancing, dramatic lighting, The Garden is transformed into a magical place. Our tables and chairs can be placed in any configuration, adding flexibilty. Some have used a tent to make it wonderful even in the rain or bright sun.

The Patio sits outside The Snug, in an alcove on the north side of The Garden. Set with outdoor tables and chairs and surrounded by pleasant greenery, it features two large gas fired fire-pits. It is a perfect spot to sit during the evening and sip an espresso or a small batch bourbon from The Hide, and, if so inclined, to enjoy one of our collection of cigars. 

Related Spaces

The Patio can be reached from the gates on Doak Street, from The Snug in First & Green, or via The Hide. Thus it fits easily into many event plans: birthday parties, football or Ladies Nights, wedding receptions and events for the wedding party. Use it alone or as part of The Garden and The Snug with the Main Hall or Miss Emma’s.
