The Story

The Snug is the charming small room at the rear of 85 First Street that connects our Main Hall & Loft to Miss Emma’s Dining Room and connects them both to The Patio and the Garden. A quiet and serene space on its own, we use it for small meetings of our own. Owner Deborah Bailey’s grandmother looks down upon us from the portrait on the wall, with a benign if slightly puzzled look on her face. Deborah still has the ermine stole she wears in the portrait. 

The Space

Simply furnished with two overstuffed love seats, lamps and a couple of chairs, The Snug can be used as a channel to allow guests to move easily from one part of a celebration to another, or works very well as a space for the wedding party or the family to assemble before or after critical parts of the celebration. The band can rest there during a break, or bride and groom can share a private moment. 

Related Spaces

The Snug opens onto The Patio and The Garden, and to Miss Emma’s Dining Room. Various combinations offer expanded space for large parties.
