a speakeasy-inspired venue in

North Mississippi

The Story

The Hide takes its name from from a lovely sanctuary in the bow of a gorgeous cruise ship upon which Deborah and Coley Bailey followed the route of the HMS Beagle and Charles Darwin.

The Hide’s beautiful bar was inspired by Blacktail, a bar listed among the 100 most beautiful in the world, and dedicated to reimagining the Golden Age of the Cocktail.

Blacktails were airplanes with black fins that flew Americans to Cuba to enjoy distilled spirits and cocktails during Prohibition. Rumor has it those same Americans were known to enjoy cigars. So yes, we offer cigars for sale, to smoke outside.

Regardless of its origins, The Hide offers a peaceful retreat, hidden at the back of 149 Green Street. Popular with wedding and birthday parties, it is rented alone, with the connected Garden, or more.

The Space

Master carpenter Greg Williams built the beautiful bar and the see through gas fireplace surround from 200 year old heart pine salvaged from the renovation of First & Green He also built The Hide’s oversized doors.

Related Spaces

The Hide opens onto The Garden, and together they offer space for large parties.

It is generally reached via the Yellow Brick Road, which connects it to Green Street, with Molly’s and The Courtyard on the other side of the street and the Main Hall just one building away.
